Economic and commercial cooperation: A new era in relations between Benin and Nigeria

Following the visit to Benin of the Director General of Customs of Nigeria Bashir Adéwalé ADENIYI on Monday 24 July 2023, the Director General of Customs of Benin Mr Alain HINKATI visited Nigeria on 11 and 12 September 2023. This visit is part of the strengthening of economic, trade and trade relations between the two countries. In the course of the exchanges, both sides went beyond traditional relations to better exploit the potential between the two countries by bringing more ease and synergy.

Following the work, a joint communiqué was issued.

All the resolutions and measures resulting from this meeting show that the two customs administrations are strongly mobilized and committed to strengthening cooperation, improving trade facilitation and promoting economic growth.

Thanks to the will and determination of Presidents Patrice Talon and Bola Ahmed TUNUBU, relations between Benin and Nigeria are reinvigorating more than ever. Both countries are united by indissoluble links through strong and active customs cooperation.
