Benin Customs: WCO/JICA subregional workshop starts in Cotonou

Benin hosts the WCO/JICA sub-regional workshop on rules of origin for West African countries from 20 to 24 November 2023. Sixteen customs officers from eight countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo take part in the five-day work. The Master Trainer Programme is a flagship programme of the joint MDG/JICA project. It focuses on cooperation with Customs administrations to establish a more sustainable training capacity on major customs matters. The aim is to build a pool of trainers in order to build the capacity of each trainer precisely in the original rule. The opening ceremony of this workshop was chaired by the Director of Cabinet of the Minister of Economy and Finance Mr Hermann Orou TAKOU and the Director General of Customs of Benin, Mrs Adidjatou HASSAN ZANOUVI.
