On Thursday, July 29, 2021, the General Directorate of Customs in the presence of its various partners organized an exchange and awareness-raising session on the use of the single platform dedicated to all international trade operations in Benin, the GUCE.

To be noted:

✅ The GUCE makes it possible to process the goods prior to arrival and brings speed to customs clearance procedures at the port and land borders as it connects all administrations and technical directorates on a single platform and thus facilitates the processing of cases.

✅ In the case of the Hilacondji border, prior to the GUCE, the customs clearance procedure took place in 18 stages. With the GUCE, these operations have been dematerialized and now take place in 10 stages.

✅ WebB Tracker mobile app 📲 developed by partner Webb Fontaine (available on playstore and Apple store) allows any economic operator, declaring at customs to consult the status of his file in an import/export procedure. Thus, with a click, he can know whether his file submitted to an entity has been validated or is pending.

The Customs DG, Mr Inusa SACCA BOCO once again thanked its various partners and especially Webb Fontaine, its technical partner for his commitment to the success of the Beninese customs modernization project, which has also ceased to stand out through the various awards and rankings in the subregion and around the world.

They are more than 2000 actors to use the GUCE for their import and export activities.
