As part of the fight against the smuggling of goods, including petroleum products in the border areas between Benin and Burkina Faso and the interconnection of customs clearance systems between the customs administrations of Benin and Burkina Faso, a working session was held via video conference on Friday 17 July 2020 between the Directors General of the two administrations and their main collaborators.

The agenda of the meeting was to define the strategy to combat the smuggling of goods effectively, and it allowed for a broad review of the various actions to be taken to that end.

Another meeting is scheduled today, Tuesday, July 21, 2020, to continue discussions with a view to making proposals to the Authorities of both countries.
