PROHIBITIONS ON THE IMPORT OF BRAZIL MEAT

The importation into Benin of meat and meat products from Brazil is temporarily prohibited, starting on 24 April 2017 as a precautionary measure and as a safeguard of public health. This is the substance of Service Note No.1258/DGDDI/DBP of 03 May 2017 of the Director General of Customs and Indirect Rights, following Interministerial Order No.024/MICA/MAEP/MEF/MS/DC/SGM/DGC/011SGG17/SA of 24 April 2017.

The same Memorandum of Service prohibits the importation and transport of frozen meat from all origins through land borders.
The Director General of Customs and Indirect Rights has given instructions to strengthen vigilance and insight in monitoring and surveillance missions at the level of the competent services
