Mission of the International Monetary Fund to DGDDI

The IMF Department of Public Finance (FAD) organized a short-term expert visit to the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Rights from 3 to 14 June 2019. This technical assistance (TA) is part of the regional project, supported by the Government of Japan, to support the modernization of customs procedures and controls at seaports in West Africa. Its objective will be to follow up on the recommendations of the technical assistance mission from 11 to 22 March 2019.

Today's session Friday, June 14, 2019 was devoted to the return of the mission and focused on three issues: (i) customs procedures, data analysis and trade facilitation. It should be noted, in general, that advances are recorded, in particular, the rate of 23% for the Red Circuit orientation, the declarations in the framework of risk analysis and selectivity, the online publication of advance rulings, the operationalization of the programme of approved Economic Operators and has carried out the state-of-the-art on the customs clearance time at the Port of Cotonou for the facilitation of trade etc... With regard to the issues of vigilance, recommendations were made.

Remember that the mission was led by Madame Johanne RUSSELL.
