A new net shot that confirms the rise of customs intelligence

On the night of 19 July, the Mono-Couffo Regional Anti-Fraud Service seized an out-of-standard cargo: more than 1.4 tons of contraband pharmaceutical products. A severe blow to illicit networks that endanger the health of populations.

Everything started with intelligence. Reliable, accurate, exploited without delay. Under the command of Colonel Pierre KOUASSIVI and Commander Bénoit BOKO, the teams of the SRLCF then embark on a chase race.
From Tozounmè to Mangassi, in the commune of Toffo, the fraudsters try to sow customs officers. In vain. The driver left his vehicle in an isolated house and fled.

Support from the Office of the Reagent of Toffo made it possible to secure the vehicle. Direction: the headquarters of the Regional Service in Come for procedures.

On opening: 41 packages. In total: more than 1400 kg of medicines illegally introduced into the territory. A cargo that could have ended up in parallel markets, without control, without traceability.

A strategy that pays off.
This seizure is not an isolated fact. It is part of the new doctrine advocated by the Director General of Customs, Colonel Raouf Malèhossou ABOUDOU: to focus on intelligence, to make units more proactive, and to strengthen cooperation between forces.

Result: targeted interceptions, less chance, more efficiency.

Beyond the figures, the stake is vital. These fraudulent pharmaceutical products are beyond health control. They directly threaten the lives of Beninese people.

By intercepting them, the Benin Customs recalls its dual mission: to keep economic borders and protect citizens.
