Eighty (80) kilograms of counterfeit products seized in south-west Benin.

The fight against pharmaceutical crime is in full swing in Benin. This is the observation that emerges after the new use of false medicines on 11 September 2020.

Indeed, following information from the Mono/Couffo Rapid Response Service that a Citroën vehicle registered BR 9978 RB from Hilla-Condji to Cotonou was reportedly responsible for pharmaceutical products, the latter was apprehended at the Guézin customs checkpoint.

When asked about the nature of the load, the driver states that he is transporting fish and apples. A summary search of the officers at the scene revealed pharmaceutical products that were carefully concealed in the fish packages.

The detailed inspection of the vehicle at the unit headquarters resulted in three (03) packages of counterfeit medicines weighing approximately eighty (80) kilograms.
