Cotonou, on 18 July 2026, the Directorate-General for Customs passed the written phase of the competition for 150 officials for the year 2024.

A total of 1484 candidates, selected at the end of the dossiers, sports events and the psychotechnical test, composed this Saturday at the Centre d'Enseignement Général Sainte Rita de Cotonou, the only composition centre with the joint coordination of Mrs Flore LAWANI married HOUNSOUGBO, Director of the said CEG and Head Centre, as well as the Colonel of Customs Sadeck OROU GUIDOU, Regional Director of Atlantic-Litoral Customs and Deputy Head Centre.

The Director General of Customs, Colonel Raouf Malèhossou ABOUDOU, kicked off at 0800 02 minutes in the presence of the staff, the authorities of the supervising ministry and representatives of all the structures members of the National Organising Jury, including DOB, DRAE, DNC, DEC, CAB/MIL, DOPA, DPAF, DCSRF and IGF. In his official launch speech, the Director General of Customs reaffirmed the Administration's commitment to transparency, fairness and merit.

Candidates applying for the places of Controllers and Customs Officers, as well as for the Technical and Administrative Personnel, were subjected to a general culture test and a specialization test including: accounting, mathematics, public finance, labour law, modeling and computer programming, HTLM and PHP language and management control for some and other subjects responding to the new needs of the administration.

The candidates unanimously welcomed the good organization of the competition, which allowed them to compete in a stress-free atmosphere.

The Director of Human Resources, Lieutenant-Colonel of Customs Séraphin SODJINOU, recalled that « the specialties recruited since 2022 bear witness to the desire of the customs administration to bring the issues of our time into line with the skills necessary for a resolutely modern customs ».

This recruitment aims to strengthen the human resources of the Benin Customs to accompany its modernization and digitization of its services to the benefit of the Treasury.
