STATISTICS ON THE TIME OF DAY OF GOODS.

  • These figures were provided by the Time Release Study (TRS) Committee set up since 21 June 2018 by the Director General of Customs and Indirect Rights and which brings together the management of the Customs Administration and representatives of the technical partners Benin Control and Webb Fontaine and all other stakeholders. The figures highlight the length of formalities at the level of each structure operating on the platform for import, export and transit operations;
  • The Committee's objective was to make an initial assessment of the average customs clearance time at the port of Cotonou, to adopt a methodology for the definition of labour standards for all port operations necessary for the removal of goods and, in a second stage, to propose corrective actions in accordance with the methodology proposed by the World Customs Organisation to improve the transit time of goods to the port of Cotonou;
  • The Committee received technical assistance from the World Customs Organisation from 13 to 17 June 2020 on the recommended methodology for determining the time required for the release of goods;
  • The implementation of the recommendations made at the end of this workshop will significantly improve the time needed to publish these statistics;
  • Next publications will be published by quarter starting in May.
