On the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, the General Staff through the Directorate of Sports and Studies, the competition started on the morning of Friday, 10 November 2017, at the General Friendship Stadium Mathieu Kérékou in Cotonou.

For a week, the Army, the Air Force, the Naval Forces, the Police, the Waters and Forests, the Customs and the National Gendarmerie fought for the overhaul of military sport.

Military Balloon, Football, Volleyball, Athletics and Petanca are the five (05) disciplines in which the various formations competed.
