Following a fraud notification at the customs post in Merijonou on Thursday, 29 March 2018, according to which a private vehicle registered AZ6071RB, coming from Nigeria and heading for Porto-Novo, carried a significant amount of false medicines, the postmaster sent a squad to the field.

After several sommations, the vehicle was finally stopped at Gbanhito and then driven to the unit seat.

The unloading of the said vehicle made it possible to count and identify thirty (30) boxes medicinal products not accompanied by documents required for such importation, for a total weight of Two hundred and ninety-five (295) kg.

A report and a request were sent to the President of the Court of First Instance of Porto-Novo with a view to obtaining a request for the confiscation and destruction of the said boxes.
