  • Total lifting of the export ban on coloured (ethrel) pineapple. - DIRECTORATE-GENERAL FOR CUSTOMS

Total lifting of the export ban on coloured (ethrel) pineapple.

The measure prohibiting the export of coloured yellow, orange yellow or red pineapple is fully lifted in the Republic of Benin.

This is by Service Note No. 3411/DGDDI/DLRI of 11 October 2017, which the Director General of Customs and Indirect Rights lifted.

It follows from the Circular No. 2392/MAEP/DC/SGM/ABSSA/SA of 03 August 2017, followed by Letter No. 511/MAEP/DC/SGM/ABSSA/SP-C of 09 August 2017 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, lifting the ban on the export of coloured pineapples to markets from Benin.

However, it is important to point out that any embarkation of ananas at Cardinal Bernardin GANTIN International Airport in Cadjehoun is subject to presentation of a health certificate and a phytosanitary certificate, bearing the signature of the skill inspector and the official validation stamp of the Benin Agency for Food Health (ABSSA).

As a result, instructions were given to all Heads of Unit, in this case to those of the Cotonou Airport Customs Recipe, for the correct and diligent implementation of those provisions.
