Following a notice of fraud received at the Customs Recipe of Sèmé Kraké-Plage, on Tuesday, 21 August 2018, around 03:25 in the morning, according to which a private vehicle, coming from Nigeria and heading for Cotonou, carried a large amount of counterfeit tickets, the authorities of the said unit sent a squad to the forward post of Adiyémé, located about 02 km from the border.

On the issue of use, the driver of the locked-in vehicle reported that he had carried manufactured goods. A more in-depth search revealed a large batch of counterfeit CFAF 10,000 banknotes buried in pasta boxes.

A total of one hundred and six million three hundred and ninety thousand CFA francs (106.390.000 CFA francs) of counterfeit tickets were recorded at the headquarters of the unit in the presence of police officers.

The holder of the said tickets was made available to the Police for the purposes of the investigation.
