The Western African Security Project (WASP) is an initiative led by the World Customs Organization, with financial support from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This year, 2024, this project was expanded to include customs administrations in Benin and Nigeria. Benin Customs is very proud to host the launch of Phase 2 of this project. In Benin, several reforms are being implemented, led by the Minister of State, Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of cooperation, Mr Romuald WADAGNI, in order to make this financial governance an efficient administration.

According to Project Leader Terry WALL, this is a World Customs Organization project aimed at building the capacity of customs officers from different countries to deal effectively with the various threats, including the illicit trade in firearms, explosives and many others.
