CAPACITY STRENGTHENING: 2nd MEETING OF RESTITUTION OF 2018 AT THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF CUSTOMS AND INDIRECT RIGHTS

It is firmly convinced of its mission to make the Benin Customs Administration a modern institution, concerned with strengthening the capacity of its staff, that the Director General of Customs and Indirect Rights organizes quarterly restitution sessions.

The sessions are exchange crucibles allowing the entire Administration to share the experiences gained during the external missions and to take stock of ongoing reforms in order to keep all customs officials at the same level of information.

To this end, the second of the year, Monday 18 June 2018, was organized around two (02) presentations on the following themes:

  • Results of the first six (6) months of each customs unit

Presented by the Technical Directorate of the National Customs Recipe, it focused on the objectives set for each unit and their level of achievement.

Following this presentation, unit managers who did not meet their targets were asked to justify the reasons for their misperformance and to propose solutions for the coming months.

In addition, the heads of units that have achieved their objectives were congratulated on the Director General.

  • Restitution of the Japanese training course for two Customs Officers on Chartered Economic Operators (OAS)

This presentation was made by customs officials Bertrand EVEGNI and Benjamin KOUAGOU, both Customs Inspectors, appointed to take part in the training on improving the management of OAS in Japan.

This training, organized by WAEMU and part of the trade facilitation promotion, was intended to assist the eight (08) Member States in the implementation of their OAS programme.
