As part of the operationalization of the National Program of Registered Economic Operators (OAS), the Benin Customs Administration in collaboration with its technical partner Webb Fontaine held on Wednesday, August 06, 2018, in the conference room of the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Rights, an information and awareness-raising session on the status of the OAS.

As part of the institutional and information technology reforms implemented by the Government of the Republic of Benin, the Customs Administration, together with the Webb Fontaine Group, has been developing its national OAS programme in accordance with pillar 2 of the SAFE standards framework.

In order to allow for real stakeholder involvement, an awareness and information session was organized for the various actors. The paper on the various themes was presented by Mr MILED Sahbi, OAS Expert of the Webb Fontaine Group.

This working session allowed the Customs Administration to first present the main objective of the OAS Statute, which is to reconcile the facilitation of trade with the security of the international supply chain and, in a second stage, to collect the various concerns and concerns of the stakeholders in order to take them into account in the operationalization of the programme.

At the end of this important session which was attended by the Directorate General of Taxes, the Patronate, the Banks, the Beninese Federation of Commissionaires in Chartered Customs (FEBECAD), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin (CCIB), the National Council of Chargers of Benin (CNCB), Benin Control SA, the Port Autonome de Cotonou, the Société d'Exploitation du Guichet Unique du Bénin etc... recommendations have been made by both to improve the content of the programme.
