Fraudulent exit of agricultural products from the territory: The vigilance of Beninese customs authorities

In the face of the resurgence of the fraudulent exit of agricultural products by land borders, the Director General of Customs in a memorandum dated Friday 24 March 2023 invited the customs personnel in service under his orders to be more vigilant.

The Director General of Customs also invites all customs units to pool their resources and actions with the Defence and Security Forces (Armed Forces, Republican Police, Waters and Forests and Hunting) of their respective areas of territorial competence in order to effectively combat the fraudulent exit of all these products. It warns customs officials who are allegedly complicit in fraud or minority in the execution of these instructions. Any breach exposes its author(s) to severe disciplinary sanctions according to the Director General of Customs, Mr Alain HINKATI.
